Ads Are There So You Will Exercise!

I love this post from Craig Harper at Lifehack. As he puts it if we sit in front of our TV for about 3 hours a day, why not use that time to exercise! Instead of sitting in our chair all bleary eyed while waiting for the ads to be over: Get UP and Do some exercise!

“Some Interesting Facts:

1. The average person watches about three hours of television per day – mostly in the evening. These figures are similar in the U.K. (according to the research I have).

2. Every hour of commercial prime-time television is programmed with about fifteen minutes of advertisements. Forty five minutes of show, fifteen minutes of ads – with the ads typically being broken up into five three(ish) minutes blocks.

An individual who regularly watches TV from 7.30pm – 10.30pm (for example) will be subjected to approximately forty five minutes of mind-numbing, ass-expanding ads every night.

The Suggestion

Use those three minute blocks to change your body and life. What would happen over the course of a year if our average TV watcher got off the couch and did some simple, easy-to-do step-ups (stepping up and down on a box, step, platform) every time the ads were on? The answer is quite staggering.”

What a great idea! I have to admit that when it’s raining or when I am not in the mood to really get out and exercise, I use my Vibration Platform and put on something to watch and this keeps me entertained while my Vibration Platform does the rest, a few neat moves (to incorporate some resistance) while I’m standing on the platform and 10 to 20 minutes later, I am full of fizz and rearing to go…

Be Fit! Be Well! do it online…
